S.-based researchers and environmental activists. The company has been conducting the “Coral in Focus” project for about a year in collaboration with the U.

S. nonprofit organization Seatrees and the University of California San Diego. The project equips researchers with advanced mobile camera technology to capture detailed underwater images of coral reefs in critical regions, including Bali of Indonesia, Viti Levu of Fiji and Florida of the United States.

These high-resolution photographs help monitor reef health and growth, enabling the creation of 3D models to assess damage and guide targeted restoration strategies. Samsung Electronics has provided them with a customized camera mode, called Ocean Mode, tailored for high-quality underwater imaging. Thanks to the initiative, over 11,000 coral fragments, covering approximately 10,750 square meters, have already been planted at restoration sites, according to Samsung Electronics.
