(Image courtesy of Yonhap) SEOUL, April 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants tripled home an insurance run to key his team’s win in their first game back home after a long road trip. Lee batted 1-for-4 with an RBI as the Giants defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2 at Oracle Park in San Francisco on Monday (local time).
It was their first game by the bay after a 10-game road swing, which took them through New York, Philadelphia and Anaheim. Lee grounded out in each of his first two trips to the plate, and then lined out to second in the fifth inning. Then with the Giants nursing a 3-2 lead in the seventh, Lee ripped a triple into the gap in right-center to cash in Willy Adames.
It was Lee’s second triple of the season and his 15th extra-base hit, the second-most in Major League Baseball (MLB). Only Pete Alonso of the New York Mets and Kyle Tucker of the Chicago Cubs, with 16 each, have more. Lee still leads MLB with 10 doubles.
Lee is batting .329/.383/.
600, and his on-base plus slugging of .983 puts him in 13th place in MLB and seventh in the National League. The Giants added another run in the eighth for their three-run victory.
