October 17, 1944 - April 19, 2025 Sandra K. Smith, 80, of Davenport Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 19, 2025. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 24, 2025, at 12 p.
m., at the Runge Mortuary and Crematory. Visitation will be held 10:30 a.
m. to 12 p.m.
Sandy will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Kings Harvest Pet Rescue in Sandy's name. Online condolences may be made at www.
rungemortuary.com . Sandy was born on October 17, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa, to Rollin and Violet (Peden) Kirkpatrick.
On April 24, 1965, she was united in marriage to Michael J. Smith. They have enjoyed 60 years of marriage.
Sandy enjoyed crossword puzzles, embroidery, baking and watching her outdoor animals. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling to watch Mike drive his race cars and family outings. While she loved all those things, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband; children, Julie (David) Thompson, Brian (Kerry) Smith; siblings, Roger (Janet) Kirkpatrick, Ardis Rettler; brother-in-law, Lester (Carol) Leonard; three grand-kitties; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Jerome Rettler. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their excellent care.
