Ready or Not’s sequel has filled out its cast with genre heavyweights including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, and director David Cronenberg. THR reports that the returning Samara Weaving and newcomer Kathryn Newton have been joined in the cast by Gellar, Wood, Cronenberg, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, and Kevin Durand, the latter of whom starred in directing team Radio Silence’s Abigail . Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are back to direct the sequel from a script by original Ready Or Not writers Guy Busick and R.
Christopher Murphy. Plot details for the new film are being kept tightly under wraps. The first film followed Weaving as Grace, a woman marrying into the wealthy Le Domas family, owners of a successful game company.
On their wedding night, the family insists they play their traditional post-wedding game which turns out to be hide & seek — with lethal consequences on the line for Grace. It grossed $57.6 million worldwide against a $6 million budget.
