Chalk Ridge Primary School, in Brighton Hill, has launched the Thrive programme – an initiative that uses an evidence-based approach designed to support young people in their personal development and mental health, ensuring they are not only academically successful but also equipped to face life’s challenges. The implementation of Thrive aligns with the school’s commitment to fostering a nurturing educational environment. The programme encourages students to explore their emotions, cultivate resilience, and foster positive relationships with their peers.
Through engaging activities and tailored interventions, Thrive helps to identify individual needs, providing bespoke support that addresses various aspects of emotional intelligence. Chalk Ridge began its Thrive journey 18 months ago and now has its own dedicated Thrive room with two fully qualified practitioners. The school held its first coffee morning for parents on April 1.
Parents and guardians will be invited to termly information sessions, ensuring a collaborative approach to fostering well-being at home and in school. Chalk Ridge is part of the Cranbourne School Cluster, where local primary schools, alongside Cranbourne, have committed to delivering Thrive. The schools believe that this initiative will empower students to thrive both academically and personally, creating a healthier school community.

"We have two skilled and passionate Thrive practitioners and the impact it has on children’s mental health and wellbeing is really making a difference to our children.
