The Seattle Seahawks made the first big move of the night and traded up to pick No. 35 overall. With that lofty pick, the Seahawks selected South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori.
A dynamic player many 12's had been pining after is now headed to the Pacific Northwest to potentially become a force in head coach Mike Macdonald's defense. Emmanwori was widely considered one of the best safeties in this draft. While the Seahawks already have Julian Love and Coby Bryant, adding Emmanwori into the mix was far too tempting to pass up.
Macdonald often employed three safeties for his defenses in Baltimore. Clearly, he is trying to build something similar in the Emerald City. From one DB to another.

35, Seattle sent picks No. 52 (second round) and No. 82 (third round) to Tennessee.
Pick No. 52 was the second rounder they received from Pittsburgh in the DK Metcalf trade. The Seahawks did not hoard picks and instead utilized their vast capital this draft into a package to get one of the best defenders available.
The Seahawks still have a second round pick, No. 50 overall, which was their original pick. We at Seahawks Wire will be on top of that one as soon as the pick is in.
