Sears set for debut as Yorkshire spring surprise with no Coad in squad

BEN Sears is set to make his debut for Yorkshire today. The New Zealand seamer was due to play in the record-breaking win over Worcestershire last week , but he was kept out by a small niggle. He will feature in Yorkshire’s Rothesay County Championship Division One clash at Durham over the next few days though.

Sears is set to be a direct replacement for Ben Coad, the opening bowler sitting this fixture. Spinner Dan Moriarty and all-rounder Matt Revis are also included in the squad, both pushing to make their first start of the season. Neither Joe Root nor Harry Brook will be playing tomorrow either. However, the two England superstars are pencilled in to play for Yorkshire in their next County Championship game, which takes place at Headingley against Warwickshire between May 2 and May 5..
