Seedlings can grow into sheltering trees

Longmont and Boulder Valley Conservation District representatives wrapped up a tree sale by distributing tree seedlings at Red Wagon Farm, 1640 W. Baseline Road, in Lafayette on Friday and Saturday. The two groups help about 300 farmers and other residents and agricultural activities around the region by hosting tree sales and by putting on conferences related to water conservation, wildfire mitigation, soil health and noxious weeds, among other things.

The conservation districts are funded mostly through local, state and federal government money and donations..
