Pune: NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar came together to share a stage for the third time in the last 15 days when they attended a meeting at Sakhar Sankul in Pune on Monday. The nephew said the aim of the meetings is to share ideas regarding better governance with workers, politicians and the administration. The meeting comes hot on the heels of speculations of a reunion within the Pawar and Thackeray families.

After attending the meeting with his uncle, Ajit Pawar said, "Now that elections are over and the govt formed, it is important to come together to put out ideas for better governance." Ajit Pawar seems to have softened his stand against his uncle and started to share the stage with him. Cousin Supriya Sule has said there was never any division in the family.

However, she made it clear that she has not received any proposal for a merger of the two NCP factions. Sule said, "We might have political differences, but that has not adversely impacted our relations." On Monday, Ajit and Sharad Pawar attended a meeting on Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Agriculture.

"We discussed how AI can help improve agricultural production. My uncle is the president of VSI and I am the trustee. Thus, we attended the meeting together," Ajit Pawar said.

The two politicians had attended a meeting at the Rayat educational institution last week. A few weeks ago, Sharad Pawar participated in the engagement ceremony of his nephew's younger son, Jay, in Pune. When reporters asked about the two coming together for so many events, Ajit Pawar downplayed the instances.

"Family members meet for events like marriage engagements and there is no need to look for politics in everything," he said. However, this has not stopped reactions from emerging in the political circles. Amid rumours of the Thackeray family getting back, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut said, "They (Pawars) have already come together and we are not surprised.

They had sent out signals about the same. In our case, Uddhav and Raj do not meet each other frequently."
