Fans are eagerly awaiting the next season of Shogun ! The hit FX series debuted over a year ago and was renewed for two more seasons a month after the first finished airing. However, it’s been a long road to getting the boots off the ground for the second season, and it was recently revealed that it won’t start filming until early 2026, almost two years after the first season premiered! Based on James Clavell ’s bestselling novel, the show is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. The series led Emmy nominations in 2024 with 25 noms overall, including one for Outstanding Drama Series, and won 18 of the awards, making history for the most Emmy wins for a single season of a television series.
