LAHORE - Chief Secretary Sindh, Syed Asif Haider Shah, has affirmed that the Sindh government is committed to promoting sports at every level and will extend full support to the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the National Games, and the Thar Car Rally. He expressed these views during a meeting with a sports delegation led by Additional Home Secretary of Sindh, Muhammad Iqbal Memon. The delegation included SVP of SWA Ghulam Muhammad Khan, patron of KBBA and MCB’s VP Muhammad Haider Khan, sports organiser Muhammad Zulfiqar Abbas Khan, Muhammad Dilawar Khan, and others.
Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah said that the Sindh government is actively supporting sports and athletes across the province. He mentioned the recent installation of two new astroturf surfaces at the KHA and the Dr Shah-Islahuddin Hockey Academy in Karachi this year. He further assured that all possible assistance will be provided for the upcoming PSL 10, National Games, and the Thar Car Rally.
He also promised strong support for both national and regional sports such as basketball, wrestling, shooting ball, kabaddi, and wanjhwoi. Effective nutrition programme being implemented across province On behalf of the delegation, Ghulam Muhammad Khan thanked the Chief Secretary for his dedication to sports and the development of athletes, expressing confidence that PSL 10 and the National Games will be a great success with the backing of the Sindh government. During the meeting, Muhammad Iqbal Memon presented a commemorative shield to the Chief Secretary on behalf of the basketball association, while Muhammad Usman Khan, a student of BVS Parsi School, presented him with a bouquet of flowers.
