Fraser’s Francesca Sines would vote Ramblers goalkeeper Alayna Lentine the team’s MVP after every game. After Monday’s 3-3 tie with Cousino in a Macomb Area Conference Blue Division game, Lentine might have a little competition — from Sines herself. Sines, who moved to forward from her normal defense position, scored twice during a 1:23 span late in the second half to overcome a 3-1 deficit and give the Ramblers a much-need point in the standings.

“We all worked hard. It’s like a win in our hearts,” Sines said. “We just have to build from this and finish it up next game.

” Sines broke in alone and scored with 14:39 left in the game to cut the Patriots’ lead to one. Her equalizer looked almost like a replay of her first goal. Sines said she was giving herself pep talks as she got ready to shoot.

“The first one was on the ground and I was like, ‘don’t hit the goalie’ and it went through her legs,” Sines said. “On the second one I’m thinking, ‘don’t hit the goalie and don’t go over the goal.’ It just went over her head.

” Sines’ performance in the clutch was why coach Michael Leone moved her up front. “As we needed more on the attack we moved her up,” he said. “She’s a good player.

She’s talented. She can play anywhere. Wherever she’s needed, that’s where she goes.

“That was great composure. Great runs. And two great through balls to give us those chances.

” Sines is able to use her speed more at forward. “I’ve played defense my whole life,” she said. “I think my speed gives us an upper hand at forward.

When it comes ahead I just try to get to the ball.” Once Sines had pulled Fraser even, it was up to Lentine to preserve the tie and she didn’t disappoint. She came up big with outstanding saves on Jaime Hollenbeck and Ann Baranski when Cousino was pressuring in the final minutes.

“She’s amazing,” Sines said of Lentine. “Her kicks were getting to the 60. She’s our MVP every game.

” Leone also appreciates Lentine. “She comes up in the big moments,” he said. “When we were pushing to get the winning goal we kind of left her on an island by herself and she came up big to save a couple breakaways and came up to get a ball out of the air.

” The mood was different on the Cousino sideline. “It feels like a punch in the mouth to us,” said Patriots coach Mitchell Bauer. “We played well from beginning to end.

It was just some minor adjustments we didn’t make quick enough after they made their adjustments.” Bauer wasn’t surprised that Cousino created some good scoring chances after Sines’ goals. /*! This file is auto-generated */!function(d,l){"use strict";l.

(Lentine) made great saves. No matter the result, it was an exciting game.” Hollenbeck opened the scoring in the 12th minute of the first half, but two minutes later Fraser tied the game.

Once again, Sines played a major role in the goal. She brought the ball down the sideline and sent a crossing pass to Isabella Gjinaj, who was standing alone in front of the net. Cousino regained the lead with 6:13 left in the first half on a goal by Baranski.

The Patriots made it 3-1 14 seconds into the second half when Mariana Mieczkowski, the only senior on the team, lofted a shot over the Ramblers defense. Cousino (2-1-4 in the MAC Blue, 3-4-3 overall) is tied with Lamphere for third place in the MAC Blue. Fraser is 2-4-1 in the division.
