Six rushed to hospital after three-car crash in south London

Six people have been taken to hospital after a three -car collision in Croydon left three of them trapped in their vehicles. The horror smash took place on Friday at around 8.49pm near the junction of Wickham Road and Shirley Roundabout.

London Fire Brigade crews carried out a major rescue operation alongside paramedics and the Metropolitan Police, eventually freeing the three trapped individuals from their cars. All three were then rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service , while another three people received medical attention at the scene before also being transported to hospital. The current condition and severity of their injuries are not yet known.



The rescue and recovery operation concluded at 10.55pm, but the road remained closed overnight and into this morning for accident investigation work. Police and the ambulance service have been contacted for further details.
