She noted that this can cause a person’s face to scrunch up against the pillow leading to permanent sleep lines and wrinkles. Instead, she recommended Brits sleep on their back for the most wrinkle-free nights and invest in silk pillowcases to reduce friction against their skin.

Despite the countless cloudy days across the UK, Dr Jameson urged Brits to never skip on their sunscreen, explaining: “UV rays penetrate clouds and cause skin damage every day.” She particularly recommended SPF 30 sunscreen for daily use. Whether plastic, paper or metal, Dr Jameson warned that regularly using straws can cause fine lines around your mouth, similar to the effects of smoking.
