High school softball playoffs are underway, and Harrison and Marion counties are well-represented. Representing Marion County are the Jefferson Lady Bulldogs. Jefferson began a series Thursday against the Redwater Lady Dragons in Atlanta.
The series will continue Friday and Saturday, if needed. Jefferson finished third in Class 3A-District 13 play with a record of 11-12 overall and 5-5 district record. Redwater finished third in Class 3A-District 14 play with a 9-15-1 overall and 7-5 district record.
Impact players for Jefferson are Madison Clark, Maddie Cooner, Karly Long and Chloe Wood. Clark is the ace for Jefferson in the circle. She went 7-6 with a 5.
05 ERA and 54 strike outs in 72 innings pitched. At the plate, she hit .418 with one home run, five doubles, 17 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
Cooner is third on Jefferson in batting average with .471 along with four triples, 10 doubles and 15 RBIs. Long is batting 0.

In the circle, she went 4-4 with a 5.40 ERA with 29 strike outs. Representing Harrison County are the Hallsville Lady Bobcats and the Harleton Lady Wildcats.
Hallsville is facing the Denison Lady Yellowjackets in North Forney. The series began Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday, if needed. Hallsville finished first in Class 5A-District 10 play with a 27-3-1 overall record and was 14-1 in district.
Denison finished fourth in Class 5A-District 9 play after defeating McKinney North in a tie-breaker with a 13-13 overall and 4-7 district record. Impact players for Hallsville are Hope Miles and Lindsey Dubberly. Dubberly finished the regular season with a team-leading batting average of .
512 while leading the team in hits with 43, homers with eight and RBIs with 36. She also is the ace of the Lady Cats, going 9-2 and posting a 1.05 ERA.
Miles is second on the team in batting average, hits and RBIs. She finished the regular season batting .482 with 40 hits, 25 RBIs and four homers.
Harleton will face off against the Frankston Maidens in Marshall in a series that begins Friday and continues this weekend. Harleton finished fourth in Class 2A-District 19 play with a record of 8-18 overall and 8-6 in district. Frankston finished second in Class 2A-District 20 play with an overall record of 17-6 and 11-3 in district.
Impact players for Harleton are Maddi King, Madison Favela and Belle Green. King leads Harleton in RBIs with 24 while batting .418.
Favela leads the team in batting average with 0.423 with five triples. Green has a 5-5 record in the circle with an ERA of 4.
