OLYMPIA — Palisades rancher Molly Linville has cleared one hurdle in her reappointment to the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission. In a brief meeting this morning , the state Senate’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee unanimously recommended Linville’s appointment be confirmed by the full Senate. She’s already served one six-year term under Gov.

Jay Inslee and was reappointed earlier this year by Gov. Bob Ferguson, who rolled back a last-minute Inslee bid to replace Linville with a different appointee. Senate approval is required for commission appointments, but state law allows Fish and Wildlife commissioners to serve while a vote is still pending.

The Legislature is unlikely to act on Linville’s reappointment during this session, which officially ends on Sunday. Linville has been owner and operator of the 6,000-acre KV Ranch in Douglas County since 2011, and previously worked as a biologist for the U.S.

Fish and Wildlife Service. For that agency, she managed the Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Klickitat County. She is one of two Wenatchee Valley residents to serve on the Fish and Wildlife commission; the other is Commissioner John Lehmkuhl of Wenatchee.
