Suffolk to be hotter than Lisbon as sunny weather returns

Temperatures in Suffolk are set to be hotter than those in Lisbon next week as sunny weather returns.

Temperatures are set to rise again as parts of Suffolk will be warmer than some popular holiday destinations in Europe. Following a week of slightly cooler weather in which some towns on the Suffolk coast dropped as low as 12C, sunnier and much warmer weather is making its return at the start of next week. Starting on Sunday, April 27, temperatures across the county are set to reach around 20C.

Temperatures in parts of Suffolk are set to reach highs of up to 22C on Tuesday, April 29 in towns such as Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft. It comes after Suffolk had hot and sunny weather at the start of the month .



The sunny weather means Suffolk will be warmer than Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, where temperatures are only set to reach 19C at the start of next week. The Met Office also predicts Suffolk will be warmer than Barcelona and Ibiza. In the long range weather forecast for the UK, the Met Office said: "Higher pressure located towards the southeast should bring fine and increasingly warm conditions across at least southern UK, whilst there is a greater chance of periods of cloud, rain and stronger winds affecting the north.
