Survivor: Millennials v. Gen X star Bret LaBelle and TikTok star Chris Stanley have officially broken up.The announcement came first from LaBelle, who posted an image of the pair walking with their arms around each other, on his Instagram on Monday (28 April).
LaBelle said: “Sometimes love means letting go. Chris and I have shared so many memories, laughter and growth together, and I will always be grateful for that. While our paths are now going in different directions, the care and respect remain.
Wishing him nothing but happiness, love and success on his journey.”Posting the same image online on Tuesday (29 April), Stanley wrote: “Yes, we broke up. Some good things don’t last forever but that doesn’t make them any less special.
I’ll always be grateful for the memories and the love Bret and I shared.“Wishing him all the happiness in the world as we move forward on our own paths.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Chris Stanley (@stanchris)Stanley clarified that they broke up “a few months ago”.
The TikToker also said there was “more to [their relationship] than that,” meaning what the couple posted on social media. “We kind of just grew apart slowly, sometimes it just doesn’t work out, and that’s OK,” he added.The pair first met in 2021, and Stanley has said they’d been together for four years.
Previously Stanley told PinkNews he had messaged LaBelle on Instagram after watching him season on Survivor, during which the Boston police lieutenant came out. However, in a previous interview with The Advocate the pair said it was LaBelle who had slid into Stanley’s DMs first.In the past, the pair have discussed their age gap – LaBelle is 51, while Stanley, who told PinkNews that “other people’s judgment” was the biggest challenge, is 25.
“I just want to make cute videos with my boyfriend on Instagram and they end up going viral, but a lot of the comments are rude, kind of mean and ignorant,” he said.Share your thoughts!
