TCAT Elizabethton has four medalists in state SkillsUSA competition

ELIZABETHTON — The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton had four students win collegiate-level medals in the recent SkillsUSA state competition in Chattanooga, from April 13-16. The wins included taking both first and second place in power equipment technology.

ELIZABETHTON — The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton had four students win collegiate-level medals in the recent SkillsUSA state competition in Chattanooga, from April 13-16. The wins included taking both first and second place in power equipment technology. Two TCAT Elizabethton students took home gold and the right to compete in this year’s national SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta.

The gold medalists are: Charles Hill in welding and Jacob Melvin in power equipment technology. The silver medalist from TCAT Elizabethton is Jacob Lowe in power equipment technology. The bronze medalist from TCAT Elizabethton is Sophia Grandia in automotive service technology.



The school praised the medalists, saying “These talented individuals demonstrated excellence in their trades and represented TCAT Elizabethton with pride and professionalism.” The school also thanked its teachers and staff who prepared the students for the competition..
