Detectives from the NYPD’s 104th Precinct are searching for a group of suspects who allegedly shot and killed a teenager in front of a school in Ridgewood on Tuesday evening.The incident occurred just before 5:45 p.m.

on April 22 in front of 17-26 George St., outside Joseph F. Quinn Intermediate School 77.



Police say Kevin Hernandez, 19, of Bleecker Street in Ridgewood—just a five-minute walk from the scene—was shot in the torso.Paramedics rushed Hernandez to Brookdale Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries.

A law enforcement source familiar with the investigation said the suspects were a group of males who fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.The NYPD has not released images of the suspects or further details on a possible motive.
