Houses of three more terrorists were demolished today taking the number of such houses demolished so far to six and similar action is likely against 14 other listed local terrorists and a dozen more who are based in Pakistan.The houses of Haris Ahmad of Kachipora, Pulwama who is active since 2023, Shaid Ahmad Kutay of Chotipora Shopian, active since March 2023 and Pakistan based terrorist Farooq Teedwa were blasted off since last night.Police also released a list of 14 terrorists who are active in Kashmir including those whose houses were blasted off and the houses of all of them are likely to be razed soon.
The 14 listed terrorists are aged between 20 to 40 years.Security forces during search operation in Anantnag.-Excelsior/Sajad DarThey belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
Among them, three are associated with Hizbul Mujahideen, eight with LeT, and three with JeM.They have been identified as Adil Rehman Dentoo, Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Ahsan Ahmed Sheikh, Haris Nazir, Aamir Nazir Wani, Yawar Ahmed Bhat, Asif Ahmed Khanday, Naseer Ahmed Wani, Shahid Ahmed Kutay, Aamir Ahmed Dar, Adnan Safi Dar, Zubair Ahmed Wani, Haroon Rashid Ganai and Zakir Ahmed Ganie.Dentoo joined LeT in 2021 and is actively working as the Sopore district commander of the banned outfit.
Asif Ahmed Sheikh, a terrorist of JeM, is the district commander of Awantipora and has been continuously involved in terrorist activities since 2022. Ahsan Ahmed Sheikh is active in Pulwama as an LeT terrorist and has been involved in terrorist activities continuously since 2023. Haris Nazir is terrorist from Pulwama and active in LeT since 2023 while Aamir Nazir Wani is also an active terrorist in Pulwama linked to JeM since 2024.
Yawar Ahmed Bhat is also completely active in Pulwama and is associated with JeM since 2024.Asif Ahmed Khanday is terrorist from Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir and he joined Hizbul Mujahideen in July 2015, and is currently an active member of the terror group aiding Pakistani terrorists. Naseer Ahmed Wani is also actively involved in terrorist activities in Shopian since 2019 as an active member of LeT significantly aiding Pakistani terrorists.
Shahid Ahmed Kutay, another active terrorist in Shopian, is linked with LeT/TRF since 2023.Aamir Ahmed Dar, also active in Shopian since 2023, is working with LeT and play a major role as an aide to foreign terrorists. Adnan Safi Dar, who is another active terrorist from Shopian district, is working jointly for LeT and TRF since 2024, and acts as a conduit for information from Pakistani handlers to terrorists.
Zubair Ahmed Wani alias Abu Ubaida alias Usman, is the Chief Operational Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. He is categorized as an A+ active terrorist and significantly aids other terrorists and has been implicated multiple times in attacks on security forces since 2018.Haroon Rashid Ganai, an active Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist also from Anantnag, is on the search radar of security forces.
He had earlier travelled to Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) where he received training during 2018. He reportedly came back to South Kashmir recently. However, Zubair Ahmed Gani, a major terrorist from Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, is associated with LeT and continuously involved in attacks on security forces and targeted killings.
The identification of these local terrorists comes as agencies intensify efforts to dismantle the support networks facilitating cross-border terrorism.Security forces have also rounded up hundreds of Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and their supporters – mostly in four south Kashmir districts – in their bid to track down the terrorists who carried out the attack on Tuesday.In Srinagar police carried out raids at the residences of 63 persons who have or had links with terror outfits.
These raids were carried at Safakadal, Soura, Pandach Bemina, Shalteng, Lal Bazar and Zadibal areas.As part of the operations across the Valley, police today busted a hideout in Machil area in Kupwara district and recovered arms and ammunition.“Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched today by the Special Operations Group (SOG) Camp Machil and the Indian Army’s 12 SIKHLI unit in the forested area of Sedori Nala, Mushtaqabad Machil (Samsha Behak forest region)”, a police spokesman said.
The spokesman further stated that during the operation, a terrorist hideout was successfully located and busted. “A significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the site, including 5 AK-47 rifles, 8 AK-47 magazines,1 pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 660 rounds of AK-47, ammunition, 1 pistol round and 50 rounds of M4 ammunition”.“The recovery is a major success, especially in view of indications that terrorists were preparing to carry out activities aimed at disturbing peace and order in the region.
The timely action by the security forces has dealt a major blow to such nefarious designs and has averted potential threats to civilian lives and public safety,” he said.“This operation once again underscores the firm resolve and close coordination of security forces in maintaining peace and thwarting the evil intentions of anti-national elements”, read the police statement.Police also apprehended two suspects along with arms and ammunition at Adigam Devsar area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
“On a specific information, police along with security forces during searches arrested two persons near Adigam Devsar crossing. They have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh (37) son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh and Mudasir Ahmad Lone (34) son of Ghulam Ahmad Lone, both residents of Sopat Tangpora Devsar”.“From there possession, one pistol, one pistol magazine, ten rounds of pistol, one grenade, one AK magazine and 10 rounds of AK rifle were recovered.
”In the meantime, an exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces in Giddar area of Kulgam district today. The searches against the terrorists are going on.Meanwhile, terrorist fired upon one civilian identified as Gh Rasool Magray R/o Kandikhas Kupwara near his home.
