Tesla Cybertruck In India: A Tesla Cybertruck was seen being transported on a flatbed truck near Mumbai. After the buzz around the Tesla Model Y being tested on Indian roads and rumours about a Mumbai showroom, the spotlight is now on the Tesla Cybertruck. The all-electric pickup truck was recently spotted near Mumbai, being transported on a flatbed trailer, as per NDTV.
An image regarding the same has been up online. It is being speculated that this bold electric pickup might be launching in India after the Model Y and Model 3. However, a closer look at the image clears up the mystery — the vehicle wasn’t camouflaged and carried Dubai registration plates.
This strongly suggests that the Cybertruck was not a test unit from Tesla but was privately imported, likely under the Carnet de Passages en Douane, which allows temporary import of vehicles for personal use. While the Cybertruck’s appearance has stirred excitement, the chances of Tesla officially launching it in India seem slim. India has not been a strong market for luxury pickup trucks.
Models like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross haven’t gained much traction either. Still, there might be a niche group of buyers in India who’d want the Cybertruck for its distinctive design, powerful performance, and attention-grabbing presence. The Cybertruck is no ordinary pickup.
Its body is made up of sharp, flat panels giving it a futuristic look. Inside, the cabin is minimalist, dominated by a large central touchscreen that controls nearly everything in the car. Tesla offers the Cybertruck in three variants: Long Range: Offers the highest range of 582 km on a full charge.
All-Wheel Drive: Middle-tier option with great all-round performance. Cyberbeast: Top-end trim that can zoom from 0 to 96 kmph in just 2.6 seconds with a range of 514 km and a top speed of 209 kmph.
Tesla’s India plans are still shaping up, and while the Model Y or Model 3 may make their debut soon, the Cybertruck might just be here for a short visit and not a permanent stay..
