Tulips are one of the loveliest flowers to see in bloom during springtime, and there are plenty of remarkable tulip fields dotted all over the country from mid-April to May. Mainly associated with the Netherlands, these vibrant flowers are always a treat to visit in person, and Sussex has a few locations to experience these wonders in person.

Here are the best places to see some beautiful tulip displays over the Easter break. Tulleys Farm, Crawley, West Sussex Best known for its famous Shocktober Fest, the largest scream park in Europe, Tulleys Farm also features some stunning tulip fields. More than 1.



5 million bulbs were planted at the site this year, and visitors can expect to be in awe at the vibrant purples, blues, yellows and reds that bloom all over the field. Tulleys offers a typical tulip trail, leading you through the fields on a serene and beautiful nature walk. In addition, visitors can discover Tulipa Lake, a waterside stroll; the Whispering Windmill, evoking the landscape of Holland; and Tulip Nights, an evening event allowing you to experience the moonlight radiating over the flowers.

Tickets are available online, and are priced between £16.95 and £19.95 for both adults and children over the age of two.

Pashley Manor, near Wadhurst, East Sussex For breath-taking tulip displays and beautiful grounds to peruse, visit Pashley Manor, located on the border of Sussex and Kent. These remarkable family-owned gardens excel at their flower displays, with their Special Rose Week and Dahlia Days events drawing in nature lovers over the summer. Visitors will be able to view over 40,000 tulips in an array of colours.

From pale pink flowers to gorgeous red and orange clusters, you can enjoy these tulips for hours. Each colour of tulip is planted in their own colour themed garden ‘room’ around the grounds, allowing visitors to wander from one dazzling shade of flower to the next. The manor will be open on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, but shut for Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Tickets are priced at £16 for adults, but there will be tickets available on the gate when visitors arrive. Arundel Castle, Arundel, West Sussex Arundel cannot be missed off of this list, with its impressive 120+ tulip varieties set to cover the grounds surrounding the iconic castle. The Tulip Festival is expected to feature over 110,000 tulips, creating a magical display of horticulture throughout the castle gardens.

The breath-taking backdrop of Arundel Castle only enhances the vibrancy of the newly bloomed tulips, and visitors can witness the remarkable wedding cake display in the cut flower garden, with the bulbs arranged in tiers, each a different colour. Garden tickets are available online and are priced from £16 per adult and £7.50 per child.

The Old Vicarage, Washington, West Sussex Finally, a lesser known but still stunning visit, The Old Vicarage, a Regency style mansion with picturesque private gardens, offers plenty of spectacular bulbs. Around two thousand tulips are planted each spring, alongside bright daffodils, delicate snowdrops and gorgeous bluebells. Although tulips are less of a feature of these gardens, the site also holds a beautiful Japanese zen garden, complete with a waterfall, bamboo and small pond, and a working kitchen garden with fruit cages and growing vegetables.

The Old Vicarage is trickier to secure a visit to, as it only opens on Thursdays, but will also be open for visitors on Monday 21st April. Tickets are available online and are priced at £8 per adult, and free for children. If you wish to visit, you need to pre-book in advance, although tickets may be available on the day on Easter Monday.
