The Beta Band have shared that they will be releasing a deluxe vinyl reissue of their classic ‘The Three E.P.s’.
Check out the details below.READ MORE: Remembering The Beta Band, the self-destructive pop saboteurs who did it all wrong in all the right waysThe release is set to be reissued by Because Music, and will see The Beta Band’s iconic collection arrive as a double vinyl on July 11.It was originally shared on Regal back in September 1998, and came as a collection of the band’s first three EPs.
These were ‘Champion Versions’, ‘The Patty Patty Sound’ and ‘Los Amigos del Beta Bandidos’.The first EP contained tracks ‘Dry The Rain’, ‘I Know’, ‘B + A’ and ‘Dog’s Got A Bone’, while the second featured four songs ‘Inner Meet Me’, ‘The House Song’, ‘Monolith’ and ‘She’s The One’.The latter was formed of tracks ‘Push It Out’, ‘It’s Over’, ‘Dr.
Baker’ and ‘Needles In My Eyes’. All of these 12 tracks are featured on the double vinyl re-release.This new repress follows on from the 2018 edition re-release, and will now be shared on 180g heavyweight black vinyl with artwork on the inner sleeves.
These feature the original cover artwork of the three EP releases.The opening track of the re-release, ‘Dry The Rain’, is most widely recognised now for its iconic feature in the 2000 film High Fidelity, where Rob Gordon (played by John Cusack) plays the song in the record store, prompting compliments towards the band from customers. P.s’.As well as sharing the reissue of the three early releases, last month saw The Beta Band announce details of a UK and North American comeback tour.
Steve Mason (singer/guitar), Richard Greentree (bass), John Maclean (samples/keyboard) & Robin Jones (drums) got fans talking when they began dropping hints of an upcoming announcement in February, developing a new BlueSky account and links where fans could sign up to receive new information from the band.The first run of tour dates kick off in September, and includes stops in Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol and Nottingham. It then picks up again in October, rounding off the UK shows with a stop at the Roundhouse in London and the Albert Hall in Manchester.
