The Big Bang Theory universe is growing, and it will soon include a new series that will focus on a beloved character from the legendary original series

The Big Bang Theory is being given another spinoff, and it's in the works as of now. CBS first greenlit the prequel series to The Big Bang Theory , Young Sheldon , as the initial spinoff. This series delved into the early years of brainiac Sheldon Cooper during his childhood in the late 1990s and early 1990s.

After seven seasons, Young Sheldon went off-air last year, and from Young Sheldon came the new spinoff, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, which is set in the mid-1990s. George and Mandy’s First Marriage is set to be renewed for a second season after wrapping a successful debut. Fast forward back to the present day, the upcoming series, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, is going to focus on the adventures of Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman).

The character Stuart’s comic book shop was a main location on The Big Bang Theory for the duration of the show. With Stuart Fails to Save the Universe being the first Big Bang Theory spinoff that isn’t a prequel, it marks a major shift from the other spinoffs. The upcoming series has the chance to incorporate Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, or any of the rest of the old crew, all of whom were longtime friends of Stuart.

At the end of March, the main cast of the show, Kevin, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie, congregated at Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles to do table reads of the episode scripts. Warner Bros Television head honcho Channing Dungey revealed to Deadline that the writing team is still in the midst of tailoring the scripts.

"Chuck, Zak, and Bill are hard at work writing stuff," Channing revealed to the news outlet. "We've seen some material at the studio, and we've had some creative conversations with Max, so we are hopeful for good news soon." Channing also teased that there’s a chance of members of the main Big Bang Theory cast appearing in the new series.

"I would never say never. We're very excited and focused on our series regulars who have great stuff to do in these episodes," he divulged. Click here to follow the Mirror US on Google News to stay up to date with all the latest news, sport and entertainment stories.
