We’re still months away from the official launch of the iPhone 17 series, yet design renders of the upcoming phone has surfaced. We asked our audience their thoughts on the possible design of the iPhone 17, and the consensus is that Apple seems to have copied from Android phones.Among the comments, the one that caught our attention is that the alleged design draws heavy inspiration from POCO phones–specifically the F6 Pro with the camera bump occupying the entire top part of the iPhone 17.

Rearrange the cameras of the POCO F6 Pro, and it looks very similar to the iPhone 17 design renders. While we do agree that the iPhone 17 renders seem to draw inspiration from POCO, we disagree those who said that it reminds them of recent Pixel phones. Granted that the huge camera module is prominent, it’s far from the visor-like design of the Pixel 8 and 9 series.

The iPhone 17 Pro adds an additional camera and what appears to be another sensor below the LED flash–but it begs us the question why Apple would have plans to go for this design approach.Aside from Apple possibly using bigger sensors for the iPhone 17’s cameras to justify the huge camera bump, we do agree that the approach dilutes the iPhone design language to make it look like an Android device. Honestly, it makes the iPhone 17 look less premium compared to the existing design Apple used for the iPhone 16 series.

If there’s something to take note of, these design renders may change in the coming months–even if case designers allege that this is the final iPhone 17 design..
