According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere ( IPMA ), the next few days will be sunny and temperatures will be around 30oC, with a few exceptions. For today, April 23, forecasts indicate that temperatures will rise by several degrees and that the sun will shine in most of the country. The only exception is the Azores archipelago, where some rain is expected.
The hottest districts will be Santarém, Setúbal and Beja, with a maximum of 25oC, as well as Braga, Lisbon and Faro with a maximum of 24oC, while the coolest will be Guarda and Aveiro, which will not exceed a maximum of 19oC. In Porto, temperatures are expected to reach 20oC and in Évora, 23oC. On Thursday, April 24, temperatures rise even further and the sun continues to shine across most of the country.
The IPMA predicts a maximum of 28oC for Santarém, 27oC for Braga, Lisbon, Setúbal and Beja and 26oC for Vila Real, Leiria, Évora, Sines and Faro. For Porto Alegre, meteorologists predict a maximum of 22oC. The coolest district will be Aveiro, with a maximum of 20oC.
