Tebas was fed up with Madrid's 'victim' mentality, taking it upon himself to call out Real Madrid, especially Perez, and their true inhibitions behind their protests. Real Madrid have once again made headlines recently, but for the wrong reasons. And La Liga president Javier Tebas seems to have had enough of it all, calling out Los Blancos’ president Florentino Perez for his ever-controlling nature.
Real Madrid lashed out at the Copa del Rey final referees on the eve of Saturday’s match, labelling complaints about pressure from the club’s television channel “unacceptable" and boycotting all planned pre-match activities in protest. They also refused to take part in the usual press conference, the open training in front of media, the traditional presidents’ dinner and a pre-match photo-call. Tebas was fed up with Madrid’s ‘victim’ mentality, taking it upon himself to call out Real Madrid, especially Perez, and their true inhibitions behind their protests.
“This isn’t football, it’s power control," Tebas started in his statement against Perez. “He [Florentino Pérez] doesn’t like Tebas because he doesn’t do what he wants. He doesn’t like Ceferin because he doesn’t do what he wants.
He doesn’t like TV commentators because they don’t say what he wants." “They do not want to move forward with the referee’s reform because it is not what he wants," Tebas added. “He doesn’t protest, he pushes.
He doesn’t complain, he threatens. He doesn’t disagree, he punishes. He doesn’t want to improve football, he wants his own football.
“And this is not worst thing. The serious thing is that many allow it, consent to it and help him," Tebas concluded..
