A fire at one of Radcliffe’s busiest road junctions was tackled by three fire crews today.

A fire at one of Radcliffe’s busiest road junctions was tackled by three fire crews today. The blaze happened in a storage shed adjacent to, Scissor Yappy Dog Grooming Service on Higher Ainsworth Road. A fire officer at the scene said: “We got a call just before 3pm and three fire engines from Greater Manchester, Whitefield and Bolton attended.

(Image: NQ) “We don’t yet know what caused it but the conditions were very dry. The storage shed was destroyed by the fire and fire crews spent two hours at the scene.” Road closures were not deemed necessary, although there was a back-up of traffic in the lead-up to the 5pm rush hour.



(Image: NQ) An inspector from Cadent Gas was requested after fire officers smelt gas on the road near the scene. The inspector said: “It was unrelated to the fire, but we were called as a precaution. We checked and identified a small amount of gas, and we will now repair the leak.
