Expectations are high for the newest Marvel entry, Thunderbolts, and the Rotten Tomatoes score is good.

The newest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe hits theaters on Thursday evening with Thunderbolts* making its debut. It's the first of two MCU movies coming out in 2025 -- the other being The Fantastic Four in July -- and expectations are high. Thunderbolts* brings together a group of the most ragtag troublemakers in the Avengers' world, including former Black Widow Yelena (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), the Winter Soldier Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) to face an admirable foe.

First reviews are coming out, and things are looking good. The movie debuted with a sky-high 95% on Rotten Tomatoes with 42 reviews, which put it just behind Black Panther (96%). It has since dipped slightly -- it currently sits at 88% -- but it's still in the top-15 of MCU flicks .

With recent Marvel titles having less-than-stellar reviews and box office performances, this could be a positive momentum shift. Thunderbolts* is in theaters May 2. This article originally appeared on For The Win: Thunderbolts Rotten Tomatoes score is all-time great in MCU.
