Marvel has put together a team of outcasts, loser anti-heroes in Thunderbolts*, who everyone hates; turning their narrative in such a way, that it’d make fans care for this gang of misfits through the course of an action-packed emotional story. This MCU version of a Suicide Squad-esque team includes Florence Pugh aka the White Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as the failed Captain America, and Lewis Pullman as Sentry aka The Void. The reformed supervillains include people who’ve been accused of contract killings, robbing government labs, being shadow ops, and other bad things—put together for a deadly mission.
But more than the team members, what's creating a buzz online is the asterisk in the film's title. Fans know that the symbol means something and social media is already flooded with crazy fan theories. Well, the internet was right about the part that the name of this team isn’t Thunderbolts, that’s why Marvel put an asterisk in the title.
And they’ve finally revealed the real moniker in the latest MCU offering. Let us tell you, The Secret Avengers, The Dark Avengers, and The New Avengers were the best guesses on fans’ list of what that asterisk meant. Now, the mystery has finally unraveled **drum rolls and spoiler alert*** The Thunderbolts* have been officially called THE NEW AVENGERS.
