A new lead volunteer has been appointed for West Yorkshire Scouts. Toby Hammond, from Bradford, will take on the role of county lead volunteer on May 1. He has held several key roles in the movement, including county youth lead, member of the UK Scouts HQ team, and trustee.

Mr Hammond said: "I am excited to support volunteers and empower young people to take the lead in shaping their Scouting journey. "Being from Bradford, it’s amazing to be able to give something back to my local area. "I look forward to working with the five Scouting districts which fall under Bradford.

"I know they will continue to go from strength to strength due to the dedicated volunteers." Mr Hammond will take over from Ian Womersley. Under Mr Womersley's leadership, the county has grown, with new Squirrel Dreys opening and partnerships formed with organisations like Bradford University and the Jo Cox Foundation.
