Trader Joe’s has issued a voluntary recall of a limited amount of its Trader Joe’s sesame miso salad with salmon packaged products, the said April 28. The Monrovia, California-based company issued the recall after learning that 500 units of the salad were mistakenly sold with a topping packet containing undeclared milk, which poses a risk for those with milk allergies, the FDA said in a press release. The affected salads include a sealed packet of parmesan cheese crumbles instead of the typical packet of crispy onions, the FDA said.
No adverse reactions to this product have been reported to date, the FDA said. The affected salads, which were produced by Taylor Fresh Foods Illinois, have a "use by" date of April 28, 2025, and April 29, 2025, and were sold at Trader Joe’s locations in Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin. They were sold at Trader Joe’s locations in 18 states: Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Five hundred units of the affected packaged salads accidentally contain a sealed packet of parmesan cheese crumbles instead of the salad’s typical packet of crispy onions. The package of parmesan cheese crumbles contains undeclared milk, which could cause an adverse reaction to those with milk allergies. To date, there have been no reported adverse reactions to this product, the FDA said.
