Rajouri, Apr 21: Keeping in view the situation of heavy traffic flow as authorities have diverted Kashmir bound traffic towards Mughal Road, Health department has sounded an alert for all its institutions and manpower in twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch with all kinds of leaves of health employees, except maternity leaves, have been cancelled till further orders.The Chief Medical Officer Rajouri Dr Manohar Lal Rana and Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan issued respective orders from their offices putting all the health institutions and manpower in the districts on high alert mode.These orders mentioned about heavy traffic flow and the situation of heavy rush that has emerged in this border area which is already prone to road accidents.
Both the CMOs have asked all the territorial administrative officers of the department to ensure that the health institutions located on Mughal Road and on the roads that connect with Mughal Road remain operational 24×7 and all kinds of life saving drugs remain available in these institutions.The officers have also been asked to ensure that all kinds of logistics like fuel for ambulance transportation remain in stock as per requirement.Furthermore, the BMOs have been asked to constitute mobile medical teams equipped with all kinds of life saving drugs and equipment assisted by quick reaction teams which can be deployed to any area in case of road accidents or any other need.
Alongside, leaves of all the medical employees have been cancelled which however exclude the leaves of maternity nature.Through these orders, the employees of health department who are on different kinds of leaves, except maternity leave, have been asked to report to their duties immediately.The directions issued are precautionary in nature but were required to deal with the situation as there is heavy traffic rush in our area and we need to remain fully prepared to deal with any kind of situation, CMO Rajouri Dr Manohar Lal Rana and CMO Poonch Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan said in their statement.
