Transwoman files FIR against partner for cheating and threats

Vadodara: A transwoman has lodged a complaint of cheating and criminal intimidation against her partner at the Raopura police station. Cutie Madhani, a resident of Dandia Bazaar, alleged that her partner, Hardik Mer, deceived her after being in a live-in relationship for over a year and a half. In her complaint, Madhani said she underwent gender affirmation surgery for Hardik after he promised to marry her.

"I was born male but underwent sex-change surgery just for him. I took a loan to fund the surgery and am still repaying the EMIs. But he suddenly abandoned me," she told the police.



Madhani further alleged that Hardik used to physically assault her, and his parents—Sidhharaj and Geeta—threatened her over the phone. She had previously submitted an application to the police commissioner's office and mentioned having attempted suicide due to the trauma..
