As the investigation progresses, several other mysteries and conspiracies, edging on the supernatural, are uncovered around town, all linking back to Laura’s murder. Mubi subscribers will have access to all 30 episodes of the show, as well as all 18 parts of A Limited Event Series , a Showtime series that was directed entirely by Lynch.
Written by Lynch and Frost, who exec produced alongside Sabrina S. Sutherland, the event series picks up with Cooper and the Twin Peaks community 25 years after Palmer’s death. Watch on Deadline Said Mubi’s VP Global Head of Programming, Katharina Feistauer, whose service licensed rights from Paramount Global Content Distribution, “Launching Twin Peaks alongside Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series is a dream for MUBI, bringing one of the most loved and discussed series in TV history to the platform.
Whilst this launch has been months in the making, the sad news of David Lynch’s death only a few weeks ago makes this opportunity to show his iconic work even more special. We are excited for the Lynch fans in our membership to revisit the episodes comprehensively, as well creating an opportunity for new audiences to discover it for the first time.” With his passing on January 16, Lynch left behind not only the two Twin Peaks series, but also a Twin Peaks film ( Fire Walk with Me ) and nine other iconic titles, from Eraserhead and Blue Velvet to Inland Empire .
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times in March, actress Naomi Watts recalled her last visit with the filmmaker who gave her her big break, with 2001’s Mulholland Drive , suggesting that he also left behind some unfinished business. “We had a beautiful lunch at his house,” she said. “I knew he’d been unwell but he was in great spirits.
He wanted to go back to work — Laura [Dern] and I were like, ‘You can do it! You could work from the trailer.’ He was not, in any way, done.”.
