Two long-haul entries are new this year.

United Airlines' mainline fleet is larger than that of any other carrier worldwide . According to ch-aviation , its fleet includes 61 Boeing 757s, making the Star Alliance member the second-largest passenger user of the narrowbody type after Delta Air Lines. United has 40 757-200s and 21 757-300s, all ex-Continental.

Cirium Diio data shows United's average 757 flight will cover 1,890 nautical miles (3,500 km) between May and December, dragged down by its high-capacity 757-300s, which do not operate long-haul. The summer seasonal service between Newark and Stockholm Arlanda will be United's (and the world's) longest nonstop passenger 757 route. While the carrier has removed all flights to Tenerife South , a route with a tumultuous yet short-term history, it was not in its top 10 list.

All flights were aboard the Boeing single-aisle. No North American carrier will serve Spain's Canary Islands unless things change again. United's 10 Longest 757 Flights: May To December 2025 Until October 25, northern carriers, including United, will operate summer schedules based on IATA slot seasons.

They will shift to winter schedules on October 26. Examining May to December means the entries below cover two seasons, which, given how many of United's long 757 routes are summer seasonal, results in radically different results. While Newark to Stockholm is number one overall, Newark to Lima —the only South American entry—is first during the winter.

United has flown the 757 from its New Jersey hub to the Peruvian capital since 2012, when its integration with Continental was finished. Continental used the narrowbody type on the route since 1996, making it one of the world's longest-flown 757 routes. 757-200 United's 2nd Longest Winter 757 Service Is Washington Dulles To Edinburgh The Scottish capital has seen substantial transatlantic capacity increases recently, partly at the expense of Glasgow. Visit Scotland incentives have influenced it, while Edinburgh, among the UK's fastest-growing cities, has excellent overseas awareness. Even before United increased Dulles to Edinburgh to a year-round operation, all carriers had scheduled over a million seats to/from the US and Canada for the first time .

In the peak summer, seven airlines will operate 15 transatlantic routes with up to 16 daily takeoffs in August. Of course, Edinburgh is highly seasonal. It has more transatlantic capacity in August alone than collectively in January, February, March, April, November, and December.

Dulles will be one of three winter routes from Edinburgh, joining United from Newark (daily 757) and Delta from New York JFK (767-300ER). United will operate five weekly flights from Dulles but will have no departures from the US hub between January 5 and February 18, returning to five weekly thereafter. February is a tough month to make work ( ask Norse Atlantic ).

According to the US Department of Transportation, United only filled 68% to 76% of its March/April 2024 seats. Will it perform well in November and February? Three of the routes are new this year. United's Longest 757-300 Flight Is San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale Cirium Diio data for May and December show that United's average 757-300 stage length will be 1,393 nautical miles (2,580 km), over a third shorter than the 757-200.

This is because its 234-seat 757-300s are exclusively flown domestically, against 68% for the 757, which rises to 83% in the winter when far fewer transatlantic services exist. While the 757-300 has a 7% higher maximum takeoff weight than the 757-200, it offsets this with a 19% higher maximum payload. It is known for its high capacity and low unit cost rather than range.

At 2,245 nautical miles (4,158 km), San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale will cover more distance than any of United's other 757-300 routes (and, for that matter, Delta's). Cirium shows it'll be the first time it has seen the variant. Yet, United plans only 26 departures, all on Fridays and Saturdays between May 23 and August 16.

At other times, the 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 9 will be flown..
