USC Aiken baseball standout Jack Hobson has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office. Hobson, a sophomore standout from Sarasota, Fla., led the Pacers to a 4-0 week.

He went 10-for-17 on the week. Six of the 10 hits went for extra bases, including four home runs. Hobson added a double and a triple.



In Friday's win at USC Beaufort, Hobson hit for the cycle and drove in four runs. He rattled off three hits, including two home runs, in Saturday's victory over the Sand Sharks. Hobson drove in a career-high five runs in the outing.

In the series finale, he continued his stellar play with three hits, including a round-tripper, and drove in four. He drove in 13 runs on the week and scored six times. Hobson is second in the PBC in home runs (16), fifth in slugging percentage (.

642) as well as sixth in RBI (56) and total bases (120). Up next for the Pacers (22-27) is the PBC Tournament, in which they will be the No. 7 seed in the eight-team field.

The top eight teams advance to the postseason, split into two groups of four. North Georgia and Lander will serve as the opening-weekend hosts. Each site will consist of a four-team, double-elimination bracket.

The two remaining teams will compete in a series May 8-9. The Pacers will play at Lander at 3 p.m.
