VACAVILLE — The local Chamber of Commerce has a new top executive. Matt Pulsipher has been hired as the president and chief executive officer of the business promotion group. He brings more than 25 years of leadership across the U.

S. military and federal civil service to his role, and will start his duties on May 12. His predecessor, Debbie Egidio, will continue in a consultant's role over the next couple of months.

“We are enthusiastic about welcoming Matt to the Vacaville Chamber team,” Stephanie Tarter, chairwoman of the chamber board of directors, said in a statement. “His well-rounded and impressive background made him a standout choice to be our next president and CEO. His enthusiasm for supporting our community, business acumen, and leadership experience were all key factors that elevated him to the top of our candidate list.

We’re confident that he will transition quickly into the role and continue the chamber’s successful momentum in serving our community," Tarter added. Pulsipher has served as the administrative officer for Region 9 of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, for which he led the planning, coordination and execution of mission-critical support functions including financial management, human resources, logistics, vehicle operations, and administrative services, the chamber reported. Previously, he was the Support Services supervisor for the Veterans Benefits Administration's Oakland Regional Office, for which he managed all facets of administrative services for a workforce of more than 350 employees across three Northern California locations.

"His ability to build efficient systems, streamline processes, and support large-scale operations made a lasting impact on the agency's effectiveness. Pulsipher served 27 years in the U.S.

Air Force, primarily within financial management. He served as the superintendent of the 60th Mission Support Group at Travis Air Force Base. He holds a master's of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree with a double major in management and human resources.
