Veer, Anahat qualify for Squash World Championships

Veer Chotrani and Anahat Singh booked their spots for next month’s Squash World Championships after winning the Asian qualifiers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday. While Chotrani joins Ramit Tandon, Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar in men’s singles, Anahat will be the only Indian in women’s singles at the World Championships, set to be held in Chicago from May 9 to 17. The second-seeded Chotrani, 23, will also make his World Championships debut after a 3-0 (11-3, 11-4, 11-8) win against Ameeshenraj Chandaran, the third seed and local favourite, in the men’s final in 26 minutes.
