Vehari - In line with the vision of IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police continues its rapid pace of departmental promotions. A ceremony was held at DPO Office Vehari where District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Afzal, alongside SP Investigation Farooq Ahmad Kamyana and DSP Headquarters Muhammad Ajmal Saeed, pinned ranks to 13 newly promoted head constables. Speaking on the occasion, DPO Afzal stressed that promotions come with increased responsibility, urging officers to perform with greater dedication, integrity, and a commitment to public service.
In a parallel move to strengthen service delivery, DPO Muhammad Afzal chaired an introductory meeting with all DSPs and SHOs of Vehari district. He directed that SHOs must be available at their respective police stations daily from 3 PM to 7 PM to address public grievances personally. Immediate action on 15 emergency calls and swift registration of FIRs were also emphasized.
Strict adherence to timelines for complaints received through the CM Portal (1787) was ordered.DPO Afzal instructed all officers to uphold citizens’ dignity, foster a culture of courteous policing, and ensure protection for vulnerable groups, particularly women and children. He further directed reactivation of night patrol and community watch systems in rural areas and initiated preventive actions against longstanding feuds.
Enhanced patrolling was ordered to curb street crimes across the district. SP Investigation Farooq Ahmad Kamyana and all DSPs and SHOs participated in the session..
