GaadiWaadi -Premium SUV buyers in India to get two new pure electric options from new entrant VinFast in the coming monthsVinFast will foray into India soon, launching two premium electric cars in quick succession. The Vietnamese automaker has confirmed the VF 6 and VF 7 as its first products for our market. Following a top-down approach, VinFast plans to first bring the VF 7 to India and kick off its deliveries before Diwali.
The VF 7 is a C-segment SUV like the Tata Harrier.ev, which was recently postponed. It measures 4,545 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,634 mm in height and has a 2,840 mm wheelbase.
In Vietnam, VinFast offers the VF 7 in two FWD variants, both with different powertrains and battery packs. In the base variant, it uses a motor producing 130 kW (174 hp) and 250 Nm of torque and a 59.6 kWh LFP battery pack.
The top variant comes with a punchier motor developing 150 kW (201 hp) and 310 Nm of torque and a 70.8 kWh battery pack.The base variant delivers a range of 430 km and the top variant 496 km.
In other markets, there’s also a dual-motor AWD variant with 260 kW (349 hp) of total power and 500 Nm of torque and a 75.3 kWh LFP battery pack which delivers a range of 496 km.Also Read: Hyundai’s Genesis X Gran Equator Concept Debuts, Electric G-Wagon Rival?On the outside, the VF 7 features split headlamps and rear combination lamps, flush-fitted door handles, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Interior highlights include a panoramic glass roof, vegan leather upholstery, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. On the safety front, eight airbags, a 360o camera system, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, etc.

Internationally, VinFast offers the VF 6 with 17-inch alloy wheels, split front and rear lights, a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, eight airbags, and 20 different advanced driver assistance systems.VinFast will likely import the VF 6 and VF 7 in knocked-down kits from Vietnam and conduct the final assembly at its local plant in Thoothukudi (Tamil Nadu), which is expected to become operational by June.
