July 16, 1944 - March 13, 2025 Virginia K Bolton, age 80, of San Diego, CA, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 while receiving hospice care at home. Virginia was born on July 16, 1944 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Clement and Juanita Early. She graduated from Assumption High School 1962 and attended AIC Business College 1963.
She preferred the name Ginny. She married George Bolton on July 13, 1968 after he was discharged from the Air Force. They made their home in Davenport and raised three children there until moving to California in 1977.
She then worked at a realty office and earned her real estate license. They welcomed their fourth child in January 1983. Ginny dutifully raised their four children as a wonderful and caring mother.
George was transferred to San Diego later that year. The family made the difficult move with their children before school started that fall. Eventually all graduated and became excellent citizens.
She was extremely proud of all of them. Ginny went on to full time work involving tax preparation and reporting until she retired. She loved animals, especially cats and horses.
One of her favorite cats was all black with 6 toes. She was an avid sports and movie fan. She met often with many of her close friends either for lunch or an occasional bike ride.
Ginny is survived by her four children, John, Patrick, Sandra, & Daniel and seven grandchildren. Per her wishes, cremation rites and a religious service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego on April 2nd at 10 a.m.
