Walmart Launches Store Renovation Plan: 650 Locations Getting a Fresh Look in 2025

Walmart is hoping to create employment opportunities for families across the nation through this renovation project.

Walmart has announced plans to renovate multiple store locations nationwide to improve operations. The Arkansas-based retailer plans to remodel 650 of its stores in 47 states of the US and Puerto Rico. This effort will create tens of thousands of jobs to support the development of the project.

Previously, the retail giant had invested $2.6 billion towards revamping the Texas locations.Other states that will see an improvement in their Walmart experience include California with 57 stores, North Carolina with 41 stores, Florida with 34 stores, and Pennsylvania with 26 stores.

Other developments will include an expanded department consisting of new items.Moreover, the big box retailer is also making changes to its pharmacies by installing private screening rooms and additional checkout areas in addition to widening the aisles. Additional developments will include the expansion of online delivery and pickup features to address the rising number of orders from the online customer base.

Walmart spokesperson Hailey Middlebrook also stated that the pickup areas will be redesigned to feature a parking lot consisting of designated parking stalls for customers to use for grocery and merchandise pickup.
