A Golden State Warriors trade idea would see Jimmy Butler leave town for a major superstar.

The Golden State Warriors are currently in the middle of a playoff run and the first round of their series against the Houston Rockets. In fact, the Warriors have a chance to close out the series tonight on the road in Game 5.However, there is another storyline that has started forming in the NBA rumor mill surrounding Golden State.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks were officially eliminated from playoff contention by the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. Many believe that Antetokounmpo could switch teams this offseason. If that does happen, the Warriors are viewed as one of the top potential trade partners for the Bucks.

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report has suggested a massive blockbuster trade for Golden State that would see them acquire Antetokounmpo in exchange for Jimmy Butler and two first-round picks."The Warriors have been linked to Antetokounmpo for ages. It's all felt like a Dubs dream to this point, but that could change in a hurry if he's (understandably) worried about the Bucks' future," Buckley wrote.

"Golden State, to be clear, would not have the best trade package to offer. But it could piece together a compelling offer nonetheless."Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III (10).

Troy Taormina-Imagn ImagesMoving on from Butler, who has had a major impact on the Warriors since being acquired at the trade deadline this year, would be a tough decision to make. However, if it meant acquiring Antetokounmpo, it might be hard to pass up.Throughout the course of the 2024-25 NBA season with Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.

4 points per game to go along with 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.

2 blocks, and 0.9 steals. He shot 60.

1% from the floor as well.Butler, on the other hand, played in 30 regular season games after being traded to Golden State. He averaged 17.

9 points, 5.9 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.

7 steals per game, while shooting 47.6% from the floor.None of this is based on concrete reporting, but it would not be shocking to see the Warriors have interest if Antetokounmpo is made available.
