Washington Commanders get solid draft grade for taking Oregon football's Josh Conerly

The Washington Commanders selected Oregon Ducks OT Josh Conerly with the No. 29 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and received a solid draft grade.

For the second time on Thursday night, and Oregon Duck heard his name called in the 2025 NFL draft, and for the second time, the drafting team got a great grade for the pick.Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. went to the Washington Commanderswith the No.

29 pick in the draft, joining defensive tackle Derrick Harmon as the only Oregon player in the first round. Harmon, who went to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the No. 21 pick, continued the Ducks' streak of first-round draft picks, making it six straight years that Oregon has had a player drafted inside the first 32 picks.



According to The Athletic, the Commanders got a B grade for taking Conerly in the first round."The Commanders have been hyper-aggressive addressing their offensive line this offseason, first by trading for offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and now by fortifying the other side with Conerly," The Athletic wrote. "During the 2024 regular season, Conerly allowed just four hurries, one hit and one sack, according to PFF, helping earn him first-team All-Big Ten honors.

He also started his final 28 games for the Ducks."With the No. 2 pick in the 2024 draft, Washington selected QB Jayden Daniels, who went on to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

The Commanders made a big trade for left tackle Laremy Tunsil in the offseason, but now further added to their offensive line talent in order to try and protect Daniels.
