A recent viral video showing him greeting his fans from his car in Attappadi has surfaced on social media. The video shows the actor greeting his fans from his car. Dressed in a white kurta and dhoti, he was seen folding his hands in a greeting and then waving at the fans gathered on the side of the road.
As the superstar passed by, the crowd erupted in cheers and shouted “thalaiva." Rajinikanth returned the gesture by acknowledging them with a warm smile. In the video, Rajinikanth also signals to his fans that he would be back the next day.
The clip was shared widely across social media which further added to the excitement around the film. Rajinikanth began filming for Jailer 2 in Chennai back in March and on April 11, he arrived in Kerala to continue the shoot. The second schedule of filming is expected to last for about 20 days.
His co-stars Ramya Krishnan and Mirna Menon also joined him. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 brings back the character of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the retired jailer. The first Jailer film, released in 2023, had a phenomenal run at the box office as it earned around Rs 650 crore worldwide.
It became one of the biggest blockbusters in Rajinikanth’s career. In January, the makers unveiled a teaser for Jailer 2. The teaser opens a radio broadcast announcing a cyclone heading towards the coast.
Meanwhile, music director Anirudh and director Nelson are casually chatting in Goa. But things soon take an unexpected turn. Then out of nowhere, armed strangers burst into the room and started attacking people.
Anirudh and Nelson are forced to take safety cover. As the situation intensifies, Rajinikanth’s character enters the scene and hunts down the attackers. As Rajinikanth makes his dramatic exit, a grenade is thrown into the room and outside, he faces off with even bigger villains in a stunning action sequence.
Watching the scene unfold, an astonished Anirudh turns to Nelson and says, “This looks fearsome, Nelsa! Let’s make this into a film!" The teaser of Jailer 2 was a big hit as it garnered over 13 million views in a matter of just 48 hours..
