CCTV has captured a gang of thieves breaking into a van in Coventry . Tools worth around £5,000 were stolen in the raid on Hollyfast Road in Coundon . Footage shows a balaclava-clad man drilling into the Ford Transit .

He is seen stealing high-value tools before a second man joins and puts them in what is believed to be a Volkswagen Tiguan. By the time the victims had realised what was happening, the three-strong gang had already stolen tools worth more than £5,000. CCTV shows the group quickly speeding off down Hollyfast Road.

Speaking to CoventryLive , the 50-year-old victim who shares the Ford Transit with her husband, said they were 'shocked' to find they had been targeted. She said they have been feeling 'terrible' since the burglary happened. Asked how her husband was coping, the 50-year-old, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “Obviously, he was not very happy about the situation, but he has just got on with it, and he has managed to get some tools together, and there have been lots of people that have been kind enough to offer to lend tools which is amazing.
