The stage is set for the World Audio Video Entertainment Summit (Waves 2025), which will take place from May 1 to 4 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The four-day event, jointly organised by the Central and Maharashtra state governments, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.What Is Waves 2025?Waves 2025 is an international summit dedicated to celebrating innovation and collaboration across media, entertainment and technology.
It aims to highlight India’s growing prominence in animation, visual effects, gaming and extended reality (XR). With a focus on nurturing talent and boosting entrepreneurship, the summit is designed to position India as a global hub for the AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality) industry.Delegates from various countries will participate, reflecting the summit’s ambition to serve as a key networking platform for creators, industry professionals and investors.
Who Is Attending?Many big names from Indian cinema will grace the event, from legends of the silver screen to contemporary stars. Among those expected to attend are Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Nagarjuna Akkineni, SS Rajamouli, Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, AR Rahman, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan. Others who will be attending the event include Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal, Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty and Hema Malini, among others.

to 1:30 p.m.WAVES 2025 Key SessionsOn the first day of the summit, Indian cinema veterans -- Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Mithun Chakraborty, Mohanlal, Chiranjeevi and Hema Malini -- will attend a panel discussion, titled 'Legends & Legacies: The Stories That Shaped India’s Soul'.
It will be moderated by Akshay Kumar.Later, filmmaker Karan Johar will host the session 'The New Mainstream: Breaking Borders, Building Legends', which will feature SS Rajamouli, A R Rahman, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.It will be followed by a panel discussion 'The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler', which will include frequent collaborators Shah Rukh and Johar.
