Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Axar Patel stated that his side were short by at least 10-15 runs after suffering a 6-wicket defeat to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday. He added that the wicket was hard to bat on and it only became better once the dew came into play.“I feel like we were 10-15 runs short.

Our intent was there, but the wicket was hard to bat on it was two-paced and became better once the dew came on,” Axar said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.Axar stated that a big problem for his side during the match was that they kept on losing wickets and no batter was able to bat along with the others.“We tried to accelerate but kept losing wickets, so maybe if one batter batted along, it might have been better,” Axar said.

While the victory saw RCB climb to the top of the table with 14 points, DC fell down to the fourth spot with 12 points. The Delhi-based franchise now need to regroup quickly for their upcoming match against the Kolkata Knight Riders which is set to take place on April 29. On the other hand, RCB will be looking to move another step closer to the playoffs when they take the field against the Chennai Super Kings on May 3.
